Mountain meadow maintenance work during the project days of July 3/4, 2023
Participants: 22 students from grades 9 and 10a, Mr. Rassbach, Mr. Volkmar
For 10 years now, the ASG has been involved in its sponsorship project - the care of the mountain meadows between Ruhla and Steinbach. The "Alte Warth" nature conservation center mows the large meadows with mountain lawn mowers and the ASG students clear the cuttings from the area. This ensures that the meadows do not become overgrown with bushes and gradually disappear. They are a habitat for many endangered plant and animal species. Since the mown area has been increased with the help of the ASG, the conditions on site have systematically improved. This can be seen, for example, in the increase in the arnica stocks.
On Monday, the meadow on the “Böse Erlich” was cleared, and on Tuesday the Schmerbachwiese was cleaned. At this point, I would like to once again thank all the students involved for their hard work.
